Advance Tax payment online is to be paid by the following assesses:
– Assessees whose total Tax liability is Rs. 10,000 and above in a financial year
– The taxpayers who have opted for presumptive taxation scheme under section 44AD of the Income Tax Act
– Independent professionals such as doctors, lawyers, architects etc. come under the presumptive scheme under Section 44ADA of the Income Tax Act.

Steps to pay advance tax payment online
Step 1: To pay taxes online, login to http://www.tin-nsdl.com > Services > e-payment: Pay Taxes Online or click here.
Step 2: Select the relevant challan i.e. ITNS 280
Step 3: Choose the relevant tax applicable
Step 4: Choose type of payment as advance tax
Step 5: Select the mode of payment
Step 6: Enter you PAN and select the relevant assessment year
Step 7: Fill in your address details
Step 8: Enter the captcha code
Step 9: Click on “Proceed”
Step 10: On confirmation of the data so entered, the taxpayer will be directed to the net-banking site of the bank or will be asked to put the details of the debit card for payment.
Step 11: On successful Advance Tax payment online payment a challan counterfoil will be displayed containing CIN, payment details and bank name through which e-payment has been made. This counterfoil is proof of payment being made.
