Udyam Registration: An all in one process
As per Notification No. S.O. 2119(E) of MSME dated 26.06.2020, It is the new process of MSME/UDYOG AADHAAR Registration launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, effective from July 1, 2020. With effect from this date, the MSME Registration / Udyog Aadhar has been migrated to this new system called Udyam Registration.
Classification of Udyam Registration (Enterprise):
An enterprise shall be classified as a micro, small or medium enterprise on the basis of the following criteria, namely

Udhyam Registration Certificate
On registration, an enterprise will be assigned a permanent identity number to be known as ‘Udyam Registration Number’ and e-certificate, namely ‘Udyam Registration Certificate’ shall be issued on completion of registration process.

Time involved in obtaining the Registration
The Udyam Registration number is generated immediately and is provided to the applicant at the same time. The Registration Certificate takes time as the concerned authorities validate the information before generating the certificate. The time taken to validate the details is approximately 7 to 10 days from the date of submission of registration.

FAQs
Any person who has an Aadhaar card linked with a valid mobile number can obtain the registration for their business.
Yes, multiple registrations can be obtained under the same Aadhaar card, but we need to keep in mind that only ONE Registration is given against every PAN card.
It is mandatory to migrate to Udyam Registration even if you have already obtained MSME Registration / Udyog Aadhar. W.e.f 1st July, 2020, MSME Registration / Udyog Aadhar are no longer valid and you need to obtain Udyam Registration.
The original value as on the date of application for Udyam registration is taken into consideration.
The penalty is imposed for incorrect facts or even for attempts to suppress the self-declared facts and figures:
First time: Fine up to Rs. 1000
Second or subsequent time: Minimum fine of Rs. 1000 and maximum of Rs. 10,000/-
